This recipe was beyond simple, and cheap!
Ingredients:
1 pound of mussels (scrubbed)1/2 to 1 tb olive oil 1 small onion or 1 shallot diced1 clove of garlic1 ½ cups of wine2 tbsp cream

- Dice the onion/shallot
- Put a pot with a lid on the heat
- Fry the onion in the olive oil for about five minutes until soft and golden
- Grate or chop the garlic and add to the pan for about a minute
- Pour in the wine and scrape up all the brown bits from the bottom of the pan
- Tip in the mussels and put the lid on
- Steam on a medium heat, shaking the pan occasionally for 6 – 8 minutes
- Pour in the cream, stir to heat through, then serve the mussels in bowls, with bread to mop up the sauce.
